I guess I would have to say that my perspectives on art are definitely vast. I believe art is so important for endless reasons. Art can bring peace, tranquility, add a little humor to life and probably most importantly change lives.
Its about emotions, feelings, the hearts of those who create it, our perceptions of life, and it's about people.
I couldn't really remember what inspired me the most to become an artist because that was to many years ago. I just did it. And I just couldn't stop.
I've always considered myself an abstract impressionist, however I am enjoying my new interest in the modern techniques and the use of new materials, style, and concept.
My favorite mediums are acrylics and watercolors because I find them to be most versatile and I'm into color. I love anywhere from earth tones to the very vibrant. I enjoy a little sponging techniques, wet into wet, dry brush, and even employing the shapes of different objects, doodles, or on occasion, employing the use of ink.
I like canvas and watercolor paper the best. I rarely ever draw anything on a canvas, I just paint. To me that is a unique gift and I believe adds a special touch to my work. Also I feel that as an artist I am very versatile since my work varies in subject matter and I can work well with the ideas and interests of others.
I enjoy creating mystery, intrigue, something a little different but with a clear and concise message in it. Something to leave an impression. Sometimes I also enjoy creating something that leaves one to question or pose their own feeling or opinion. Within my own paintings I see and find a sense of tranquility and a great love for nature.
